About Us
We are a volunteer led, self-funding not-for-profit art gallery in Furzedown, South West London.
We offer local artists, designers, makers and creative groups opportunities to exhibit and sell work directly to buyers. Artists are present for their exhibitions enabling visitors to find out about their work and practices. These interactions encourage creativity, skill sharing and the enjoyment of the arts.
We also host workshops, an artists’ hub, poetry and play-reading groups, support local charities, hold a Christmas Market, an Artist in Residence programme and a successful Art loan scheme enabling members to enjoy selected original artworks in their homes for 6 months free of charge.

How it all began ...
In late 2009, a group of Furzedown residents persuaded a local landlord to give them 6 months rent-free in a disused old green grocers shop on Moyser Road, to create a ‘pop-up’ art gallery.
In May 2010, after many hours, days, blood, sweat and tears, Sprout Arts opened its doors to the public.
At the end of the term, the community loved it and the team responsible loved it and had a vision to keep those doors open. Taking it on officially and no longer rent-free, work began to form a strategy to make this possible.
The original team was led by Fio Adamson who sadly left in 2011, and the team has since evolved and grown but some of the original team still remain, actively involved on a daily basis.
