Emily's work is based on storytelling and visual thinking based on stories from the bible, folklore and recent residency trips in Scotland. In her work she draws from a variety of references from her surroundings, semi abstract and semi figurative in a painterly language. She is interested in capturing the sensations of these subjects, and exploring the expression and subjectivity of colour, inspired by Johannes Itten's teachings and explorations on the art of colour. Her work conjoins observation and the imagination through the interaction between conscious thought and the subconscious.

Emily is a London based artist, who recently graduated from the The Royal Drawing School 2015 and a previously from Brighton in Fine Art Painting in 2011, where she received the Nagoya University award for 'The Highly Commended: Outstanding artistic achievement at Brighton University Degree show'. Emily has exhibited in Berlin, London and West Sussex, including at Christie's and The Hyatt Regency Hotel with the Saatchi Gallery, London, and in group and solo exhibitions at The Project Gallery in West Sussex. She also frequently partakes in residencies, previously in New York and Berlin, and recently in Italy and Scotland, granted by The Royal Drawing School, during her BA she was also granted a student exchange programme to study at Seoul National University, South Korea.
