TRANSITION TOWN TOOTING
JELLYBRELLA
Saturday 11 May, 10.00am — 4.00pm
@ Sprout Arts
All welcome to our fun creative workshop for adults & children where we'll use scrap materials to create exciting sculptures. Transforming the lost umbrellas of Tooting, we'll be, Jellybrella artists, making our community beautiful with stories & hands-on making together.
We’ll re-use waste materials to make giant sea creatures, sea flowers & jellyfish. Or make your Jellybrella into a message or poem with a cascade of words.
Neglected umbrellas will come alive with their trailing tentacles of many colours as proud makers parade them. If it rains…we’ll have our Jellybrellas!
The storyteller will move us with tales of lost & found umbrellas & living with less waste, helping us all be artists taking care of the health & wellbeing of our neighbours, community & city.
All materials provided - if you like please bring your own favourite or neglected umbrella (surprise us!) to transform into a Jellybrella.
Come for the whole day or drop in - allow 2 hours to make the most of the fun.
We can’t wait to see what you create & at the end you can take away your Jellybrella or leave it with us for exhibition locally in Tooting Community Garden.
Supported by Wandsworth Arts Fringe through Wandsworth Grant Fund.
